Compressed atoms

Article Abstract:

The study collects and summarizes experimental data on the ESR, NMR, and magnetic moments of compressed atoms to generalize regularities in the compression effects, if any, and discusses theoretical basis of the effects. Special emphasis on the electron-nuclear coupling as a parameter characterizing the modification of atomic orbital and the redistribution of spin under compression is presented.

Spherical double electriclayer structure and unprecedented high stability of the P20O20 cage and its anionic endohedral complex Na-@P(sub 20)O(sub 20).

Article Abstract:

The density functional calculations are used to determine structures and stabilities of cages P20 and P20O20 and their endohedral complexes Na@P20, Na+@P20Na@(sub 20)O(sub 20), and Na(super -)@(sub 20)O(sub 20). The molecular cages of Na can easily trap atoms and ions inside and outside and they are used as potential building units of nanoscale materials.

A model macroion solution next to a charged wall: overcharging, charge reversal, and charge inversion by macroions

Article Abstract:

The integral equations theory is used to study the inhomogeneous primitive model (IPM) macroion solution next to a charged wall. The role of the small ion and macrion short-range correlations and the induced-charge profiles for three different macrions solutions models are examined.
