Computer simulation studies of equilibrium properties in CS2/C6H6 liquid mixtures

Article Abstract:

The thermodynamic and structural data for the binary mixtures of CS2 with benzene focusing particularly on the relative orientations of the two compounds in the liquid state is presented. It is concluded that it is corroborated by the local mole fraction analysis clearly indicating that any changes in the first coordination shells around CS2 or benzene can be explained by density effects.

Self- organization of C(sub 60) nanoparticles in carbon disulfide solution

Article Abstract:

C(sub 60) aggregation in neat CS(sub 2) solvent is reported using positronium as a fundamental probe, which maps changes in the local electron density of the microenvironment. At a higher concentration beyond 0.36 g/dm (super 3), entropy driven phase change was noticed leading to the formation of irregular, but oriented crystalline components.

Ultrafast dynamics in microemulsions: Optical Kerr effect study of the dispersed oil phase in a carbon disulfide-dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide-water microemulsion

Article Abstract:

The ultrafast, optically-heterodyne-detected optical Kerr effect is used to investigate the dynamics of the dispersed oil phase of a novel oil-in-water microemulsion. The carbon disulfide-dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide-water (CS2-DTAB-H2O) system is characterized by viscosity and conductivity measurements.
