Controlled nucleation and growth of CdS nanoparticles in a polymer matrix

Article Abstract:

In-situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction (XRD) is used to monitor the thermal decomposition of Cd thiolates precursors embedded in a polymer matrix and the nucleation of CdS nanoparticles. A possible mechanism driving the structural transformation of the precursors is inferred from the diffraction features arising at the different temaperatures.

A new polymorph of FeAlO3 at high pressure

Article Abstract:

A new high-pressure polymorph of FeAlO3 is reported that is identified by synchrotron X-ray diffraction measurements and a structural transition exhibited by the same during decompression. Results suggest that the high-pressure orthorhombic phase could be the Rh2O3(II) structure rather than the GdFeO3-type perovskite structure.
