Controlling the morphology of ZnO nanostructures in a low-temperature hydrothermal process

Article Abstract:

ZnO nanostructures of different morphologies were grown in a controlled manner using a simple low-temperature hydrothermal technique. It is found that by controlling the content of ethylenediamine (soft surfactant) and the pH of the reaction mixture, nanoparticles, nanorods and flowerlike ZnO structures could be synthesized at temperatures 80-100 degree Celsius with excellent reproducibility.

Graphite-incorporated MoS2 nanotubes: A new coaxial binary system

Article Abstract:

Graphite-filled MoS2 nanotubes were synthesized by pyrolizing propylene inside MoS2 nanotubes prepared by a template-assisted technique. The results open up the possibility of using MoS2 nanotubes as templates for the synthesis of new one-dimensional binary-phase systems.

Morphology-controllable synthesis and characterization of single-crystal molybdenum trioxide

Article Abstract:

The facile morphology-controllable synthesis, shape-dependent UV adsorption, and increased and decreased band gap are discussed. The results show that the morphology of one-dimensional MoO3 nanostructures can be controlled with the attention of common nitrates.
