DNA functionalized single-walled carbon nanotubes for electrochemical detection

Article Abstract:

Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) were effectively dispersed and functionalized by wrapping with single-stranded DNA (ssDNA). The DNA-SWNT hybrids can be made into a uniform film, which firmly attaches onto glass substrate and the electrochemical experiments indicated that the DNA-SWNT electrode possesses a flat and wide potential window, well defined quasi-reversible voltammograms, and quick electron transfer for Fe(CN)(sub 6)(super 4-)/Fe(CN)(sub 6)(super 3-).

Manipulation of single DNA molecules via lateral focusing in a PDMS/Glass microchannel

Article Abstract:

Several different high-throughput approaches to detect single target DNA molecules in a capillary or a microchannel are reported. It is demonstrated that a simple and cost-effective PDMS/ glass microchannel could be used to produce gradient 2D shear flow and that the resulting lateral focusing could be used for immunoassay without bound/free separation.

On the feasibility of single-molecule detection of the Guanosine-analogue 3-MI

Article Abstract:

UV fluorescence fluctuation correlation spectroscopy (FCS) measurements on the guanosine analogue 3-MI, a pteridine widely used in studies of DNA binding and dynamics is presented. The triplet and photobleaching behavior of 3-MI and the possibilities of using the analogue in single -molecule studies of DNA dynamics are described.
