Dimethyl methylphosphonate decomposition on titania-supported Ni clusters and films: A comparison of chemical activity on different Ni surfaces

Article Abstract:

The thermal decomposition of dimethyl methylphosphonate (DMMP) is investigated in ultrahigh vacuum by temperature programmed desorption (TPD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) on Ni clusters and films deposited on TiO2(110). Decomposition pathways revealed that all of the supported Ni surfaces produce CO and H2 as the major gaseous products, while the TiO2 surface produce methyl radicals, methane and H2 as the main decomposition products.

Layer-by-layer assembly of polyoxometalates into microcapsules

Article Abstract:

Different types of polyoxometalates (POM) are assembled into the shell of microcapsules, which demonstrates that POMs form nanoparticles in the presence of electrolytes, while retaining the functions of POM. It is concluded that introduction of POMs into microcapsules can be used for the development of polyoxometalate functional materials and interconnection of subjects.

DNA-surfactant interactions: a procedure for determination group contributions

Article Abstract:

A procedure is used for obtaining the free energy corresponding to the interaction of surfactants of alkyltrimethylammonium-type RN-[(C[H.sub.3]).sub.3.sup.+] and DNA. The values of the free energies have shown that the surfactant/DNA interaction is mainly electrostatic.
