Direct electron transfer kinetics in horseradish peroxidase electrocatalysis

Article Abstract:

A steady-state analysis of the nonmediated bioelectrocatalyst activity of adsorbed horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is presented as a function of substrate concentration, electrode potential and solution pH. The variations in the kinetic parameters with solution pH have provided some indication of the nature and location of the acid/base groups that control the electronic exchange between enzyme and electrode.

Formation and reductive desorption of mercaptohexanol monolayers on mercury

Article Abstract:

The formation and reductive desorption of self-assembled monolayers of 6-mercaptohexanol on mercury is studied using cathodic stripping voltammetry and capacitative transients, including the possibility of expanding or contracting the electrode area at the end of the preconcentration step.

Influence of spatial redox distribution on electrochemical behavior of electroactive self-assembled monolayers

Article Abstract:

An electrostatic model is proposed to account for the spatial distribution of the redox centers in electroactive SAMs. Theoretical requirements leading to layer-by-layer redox conversation of the film are identified.
