Direct visual evidence for quinoidal charge delocalization in poly-p-phenylene cation radical

Article Abstract:

Direct visual evidence is provided for quinoidal charge delocalization in poly-p-phenylene (PPP) cation radical by using three-dimensional (3D) charge difference densities. The transition dipole moment of [S.sub.1] has represented mesoscopic dipole antennae for the quaterphylene (QP) cation radical.

Photoelectron spectroscopic investigations of chemical bonding in organically stabilized PbS nanocrystals

Article Abstract:

The surface structure of organically capped PbS nanocrystals using synchrotron radiation excited core-level photoelectron spectroscopy is studied. The results indicate that the trioctylphosphine ligands passivate only the surface S sites while oleic acid ligands appear to bind mainly to Pb sites.

Resorcarene-based receptor: Versatile behavior in its interaction with heavy and soft metal cations

Article Abstract:

A resorcarene derivative designed with pendant arms having sulfur donor atoms namely 5,11,17, -23-ethylthiomethylated calix[4] resorcarene is described. Electrical conductance provided key information regarding the composition of metal-ion complexes and their decomposition.
