Dispersion of metallofullerene Y(at the rate)C(sub 82) on bare, C60-modified, and iodine-modified Au(111) surfaces investigated with ECSTM

Article Abstract:

Two-dimensional (2D) assembling behaviors of the endohedral metallofullerene Y(at the rate)C82 on bare, C60-modified and iodine-modified Au(111) surfaces are investigated in 0.1 M HClO4 solution employing electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy (ECSTM). The improvement of Y(at the rate)C82 dispersion on an iodine-modified gold surface is due to the strong Y(at the rate)C82-substrates interactions and the modified-substrate method provides an effective strategy to disperse endohedral metallofullerenes.

Self-assembly of PcOC8 and its sandwich lanthanide complex Pr(PcOC8)2 with oligo(phenylene-ethylene) molecules

Article Abstract:

Self-assemblies of octakis(octyloxy) phthalocyanine (PcOC8) and its sandwich lanthanide complex, substituted praseodymium bis(phthalocyanine) (Pr(PcOC8)2), with oligo(phenylene-ethylene) (OPE) are investigated. When OPE molecules are added into phenyloctane solvent, Pr(PcOC8)2 molecules prefer to form an ordered adlayer at the top of the OPE adlayer, while PcOC8 molecules adsorb on HOPG surface directly and form separated domains with OPE.

Charge-transfer effect at the interface of phthalocyanine-electrode contact studied by scanning tunneling spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The charge-transfer effect at the molecule-substrate interface of substituted metal phthalocyanines is investigated by using the scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and spectroscopy. The charge-transfer effect results in a systematic-shift of the energy level of valence bonds and also reveals same energy gaps for both fluorinated as well as unsubstituted phthalocyanines.
