Dynamically amorphous character of electronic states in poly(dA)-poly(dT) DNA

Article Abstract:

The dynamical features of the charge density distributions and the electronic structure are presented. The electronic states in a model deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) double helix of poly(dA)-poly(dT) as the molecule undergoes thermal fluctuations at room temperature are reported. The findings show strong Anderson localization in DNA as a result of the disorder due to structural changes promoted by the thermal fluctuations.

Estimate of the reorganization energy for charge transfer in DNA

Article Abstract:

A computational study of the solvent reorganization energy, lambda(sub s), for hole transfer through deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is carried out. It is found that lambda(sub s) for hole transfer between guanine units to increase rapidly at short donor-acceptor distances (R(sub DA) < 15 angstrom).

The structural characterization of oligonucleotide-modified gold nanoparticle networks formed by DNA hybridization

Article Abstract:

The structural properties of DNA-linked gold nanoparticle materials are examined using synchroton small-angle X-ray scattering. When oligonucleotide-modified nanoparticles are connected by duplex DNA linkers, the assemblies exhibit relatively sharp scattering peaks.
