Dynamics of defect annihilations in polymerization of aromatic liquid crystalline polyesters

Article Abstract:

The evolution of defect annihilation and the dynamics and mechanisms of reorganizations of disclinations during the thin film polymerization of various aromatic LC polyesters is detailed. In contradiction to conventional rules, a faster annihilation rate in the late stage of annihilation process in some samples is observed and an increase in the distance of a disclination pair is found due to the surroundings and polymerization effects.

Dynamic responses of a thermotropic main-chain liquid crystalline polyester during polymerization under electric fields

Article Abstract:

The dynamic responses of a main-chain liquid crystalline polymer (LCP) during the polycondensation reaction under electric fields are studied by a modified thin-film polymerization technique using a polarizing microscope. The dynamic response of the LC phase during the polymerization is strongly dependent on the frequency and strength of the external field.

Hybrid material polypyrrole/PW12O40(super 3-): electrochemical synthesis, kinetics and specific charges

Article Abstract:

The potentiostatic synthesis and microgravimetric kinetics of hybrid materials polypyrrole/PW12O40(super 3-) are investigated. The results show that the mechanism of the electropolymerization process does not change in significant way when the conditions of synthesis are changed.
