EQCM studies of the redox processes during and after electropolymerization of films of transition-metal complexes of vinylterpyridine

Article Abstract:

The reduction-oxidation reactions during and after electropolymerization of the transition metal complexes of vinylterpyridine and their films were investigated in acetonitrile solution using the electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance and admittance measurements of the quartz crystal resonator. Polymerization for each of the complexes was induced by reduction of the ligand except for (Ni(v-tpy)(sub 2))(super 3 +). The oxidation-reduction processes of the polymerized (M(v-tpy)(sub 2))(super n+) look to be of the anion-exchange type with changes in the film structure.

Electrochemical and adsorption properties of PAMAM dendrimers surface-functionalized with polypyridyl cobalt complexes

Article Abstract:

Electrochemical methods are used for studying the electrochemical properties, thermodynamics and kinetics of adsorption onto a platinum electrode of pendant polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimers surface-functionalized with polypyridyl transition metal complexes of cobalt for generation 1 and 3. Results suggest that the kinetics of adsorption may be activation-controlled rather than diffusion controlled.

Growth of single-crystalline Ni and Co nanowires via electrochemical deposition and their magnetic properties

Article Abstract:

The effects of electrochemical deposition conditions on the structure of Ni nanowires are examined to investigate the growth mechanism. Possible reasons for the growth of the single-crystalline Ni nanowires are discussed on the basis of electrochemistry and thermodynamics.
