X-ray and electron induced oligomerization of condensed 3-hexylthiophene

Article Abstract:

X-ray and electroninduced polymerization/oligomerization of condensed 3-hexylthiophene on polycrystalline gold is studied and the resulting films with electron and infrared spectroscopies are characterized. Photoelectron spectroscopy is used to compare the chemical and electronic nature of electron and X-ray formed films and the first measurement of the vibrational spectra of such organic layers is presented.

High aggregation number silver clusters by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization: Role of matrixes on the gas-phase reduction of silver ions

Article Abstract:

The effect of matrixes with various chemical structures on the cluster formation is systematically investigated. The singly positively and negatively charged silver-cluster ions are effectively produced under matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) conditions up to the aggregation number of n approximately equal to 200, using reductive polar organic matrixes and silver trifluoroacetate (AgTFA).

Melt polycondensation of D,L-lactic-acid: MALDI-TOF MS investigation of the ring-chain equilibrium

Article Abstract:

MALDI-TOF MS method was used for studying the melt polycondensation of D, L-lactic acid, at temperatures ranging from 100 to 200 degree Celsius and investigating the ring-chain equilibrium. Results show that the MALDI-TOF MS method could be used for determining the ring-chain equilibrium and the ring formation increases as the reaction temperature increases.
