Observation of a phase transformation of Ga2S3 in a quartz effusion cell above 1230 K by means of neutron scattering

Article Abstract:

A condensed-phase transformation of Ga2S3 in a quartz effusion cell at temperatures above 1230 K using neutron scattering is reported. The structure factors show the involvement of the sites of the gallium and vacancies in the original monoclinic phase in the disordering of Ga2S3.

Surfactant-imposed interference in the optical characterization of GaP nanocrystals

Article Abstract:

Complication in optical characterization of GaP nanoparticles grown by colloidal chemistry is reported. The results demonstrate the potential complication associated with studying the optical properties of GaP nanocrystals prepared in the presence of commonly utilized surfactants.

Article Abstract:

Quantum wire lasers are fabricated through complex overgrowth processes with molecular beam epitaxy. The spontaneous phase separation in the nanowires could be driven by the intrinsic stresses, as implied by the results.
