Effect of intermolecular hydrogen bonding on low-surface-energy material of poly(vinylphenol)

Article Abstract:

Poly(vinylphenol) (PVPh) has an extremely low surface energy after a simple thermal treatment procedure calculated on the basis of the two-liquid geometric method. Infrared analyses indicate that the intermolecular hydrogen bonding of PVPh decreases by converting the hydroxyl group into a free hydroxyl and increasing intramolecular hydrogen bonding after thermal treatment.

Observation of Quantum paraelectricity in an intermolecular ionic hydrogen-bonded crystal of a squaric acid derivative

Article Abstract:

The preparation of a one-dimensional hydrogen-bonded crystal of phenylsquaric acid, in which on of the hydroxy groups of squaric acid is replaced with a phenyl group, is presented. In this preparation, crystalline phenylsquaric acid (PSQ) does not exhibit any proton dynamics along the hydrogen-bonded chain.

Dielectric response in bisquaric acid crystal: Possible generation of protonic soliton in a quasi-one-dimensional hydrogen-bonded system

Article Abstract:

The proton dynamics of crystalline bisquaric acid (H2BSQ) in terms of the temperature and frequency dependence of its permittivity is investigated. It was found that the dielectric response of the H2BSQ crystal exhibited two-step changes.
