Effects of reduction temperature and metal-support interactions on the catalytic activity of Pt/gamma-Al2O3 and Pt/TiO2 for the oxidation of CO in the presence and absence of H2

Article Abstract:

TiO2- and gamma-Al2O3-supported Pt catalysts were characterized and their catalytic properties were examined for the oxidation of CO in the absence and presence of H2 (PROX). The high activity of Pt/TiO2 for oxidation of CO is attributed to provide highly reactive oxygen species at the metal-support interface whereas increasing the reduction temperature led to higher electron density on Pt.

Mechanism of stationary bulk CO oxidation on Pt(111) electrodes

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted, which aims to gain new knowledge related to the oxidation process in CO saturated solution, using Pt(111), for which STM and IR data exist. Results concluded that CO is admitted in the cell at 0.05 V, the oxidation of bulk CO occurs at a relatively high rate at potentials below 0.6 V.

Catalytic activity of the RuO2(100) surface in the oxidation of CO

Article Abstract:

The study presents an experimental data explaining the inactivity of the c(2*2) phase by the fact that CO does not adsorb on the c(2*2) phase even at temperatures as low as 100K. The result suggests the absence of undercoordinated 1f-cus Ru sites on the RuO2(100)-c(2*2) surface.
