Efficient light harvesting by using green Zn-porphyrin-sensitized nanocrystalline TiO(sub 2) films

Article Abstract:

A series of novel intense green porphyrins containing carboxylate anchoring groups are shown to have potential as light sensitizers in TiO(sub 2) solar cells. Density function theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT calculations have shown that presence of electron-withdrawing moieties on the substituent modulates the electronic absorption spectrum through stabilization of the energies of the lowest occupied orbital (LUMO) and LUMO + 2.

Preparation of large-pore mesoporous nanocrystalline TiO2 thin films with tailored pore diameters

Article Abstract:

A novel and facile synthesis route to large-pore mesoporous nanocrystalline anatase thin films with tunable pore diameters in narrow distribution of sizes ranging from 8.3 to 14 nm is reported. The obtained materials are characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and nitrogen adsorption.

Enhancement of photoinduced highly hydrophilic conversion on TiO2 thin films by introducing tensile stress

Article Abstract:

The photocatalytic oxidation processes and photoinduced hydrophilic conversion rate, of TiO2 was 5 times greater for the film with tensile stress than for the film without residual stress. The residual stress is an important factor influencing highly sensitive photoinduced hydrophilicity of a film.
