Electrolyte-induced structural evolution of Triton X-100 micelles

Article Abstract:

The long-time self-diffusion coefficients of Triton X-100 micelles are determined as a function of surfactant and electrolyte concentrations using rotating disk electrode voltammetry in conjunction with ferrocene acting as an electroactive probe. By using intrinsic viscosity measurements, the specific micellar volume was shown to decrease progressively with the addition of electrolyte concurrent with micellar expansion.

A thermodynamic analysis of charged mixed micelles in water

Article Abstract:

A thermodynamic analysis is presented for electrically charged mixed micelles in water on the basis of the Gibbs-Duhem relation proposed by Hall in combination with the information on the degree of counterion binding. The proposed analyses are working well for both the ionic/nonionic mixed micelles and those consisting of ionic surfactants of like charges.

Deuterium NMR study of slow relaxation dynamics in a polymer-like micelles system after flow-induced orientation

Article Abstract:

First time resolved deuterium NMR study on wormlike micelles is presented. A micellar system made of soybean phosphatidylcholine (lecithin), D2O, and cyclohexane studied in a concentrated regime in the vicinity of the isotropic/nematic transition positioned in the equilibrium isotropic phase is also investigated.
