Electron field emission from self-organized micro-emitters of sp(super 3)-bonded 5H boron nitride with very high current density at low electric field

Article Abstract:

The electron field emission, with high current density equivalent 0.9 A/cm2 at a low electric field of 8.6 V/mu(m), from self-organized electron emitters with high beta, cone-shape structures and micrometer dimensions made of sp(super 3)-bonded 5H boron nitride is reported. The robustness of sp(super 3)-bonded BN with its excellent electron emission characteristics and the self-organization of emitter shaped structures provide new applications for electron emitting devices.

New phase of sp3-bonded BN: the 5H polytype

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze a novel phase of sp3-bonded BN, 5H polytype. The phase was determined using chemical vapor deposition coupled with 193 nm laser irradiation of the surface. The representative lattice parameters were obtained as 2.528 and 10.407 Angstrom, respectively. The substrate temperature was 850 degrees C. Moreover, an X-ray diffraction pattern was determined by a fully computerized film X-ray diffraction system.

Condensation pf sp(super 3)-bonded boron nitride through a highly nonequilibrium fluid state

Article Abstract:

The Crystalline sp(super 3)-bonded boron nitride (BN) with a 5H-polytipic formed by pulsed laser deposition with the help of synchronously modulated reactive plasma(super 2) at 10 Torr is presented. It is concluded that a new mode of crystal growth occurs, the metastablephase crystal condensation from the fluid-state precursor, in the vicinity of the CP.
