Electronic structure of the nucleobases

Article Abstract:

A comparison is made between the experimental and calculated soft X-ray spectra of DNA's nucleobases, adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine using X-ray absorption spectroscopy and soft X-ray emission spectroscopy. The experimental and theoretical results for the four nucleobases show that each cell has a unique partial density of states for the carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen sites.

Resonance Raman and UV-Vis spectroscopic characterization of FADH in the complex of photolyase with UV-damaged DNA

Article Abstract:

Resonance Raman and UV-vis spectroscopy is used to investigate the interactions between the active site in unmanipulated photolyase and UV-damaged DNA. The substrate binding of unmanipulated Escherichia coli photolyase induces changes in both the resonance Raman and the absorption spectrum of flavin adenine dinucleotide (FADH.).

Leading RNA tertiary interactions: Structures, energies, and water insertion of A-minor and P-interactions

Article Abstract:

The quantum chemical study results from key tertiary interaction patterns in RNA reveal A-minor interactions to be formed by adenine interacting through its sugar edge with a WC base pair from a canonical double helix while the P-interaction was found to bring together a G/U wobble base pair and a GC WC base pair.
