Ellipsometric study of dissolution of anodic WO3 films in aqueous solutions: 2. Reaction mechanism

Article Abstract:

Study is conducted to demonstrate that the dissolution of anodic WO3 can be described in terms of general mechanisms already used to account for physicochemical process involved in the dissolution of oxides of other metals. The capability of ellipsometry for distinguishing between thickness decrease and hydration and generation of porosity/roughness helps to analyze the thickness range within which reliable kinetic information can be obtained.

Structure and photocatalytic activity of Ti(sub 1-x)M(sub x)O(sub 2 plusmn delta) (M= W, V, Ce, Zr, Fe, and Cu) synthesized by solution combustion method

Article Abstract:

The W, V, Ce, Ze, Fe, and Cu metal ion substituted nanocrystalline anatase TiO2 was prepared by solution combustion method and characterized by XRD, Raman, BET, EPR, EPR, XPS, IR TGA, UV absorption, and photoluminescene measurements. Structural studies indicate that the solid solution formation was limited to a narrow range of concentrations of the dopant ions.

Surface behavior of nickel powders in aqueous suspensions

Article Abstract:

The colloidal and surface behavior of aqueous suspensions of nickel particles by means of solubility and zeta potential measurements focusing the effect of pH is studied. XPS studies support that suspensions prepared at pH>9 lead to NiO-enriched species, while suspensions prepared at lower pH form NiO(OH) species.
