Enhanced charge transport and incorporation of redox mediators in layer-by-layer films containing PAMAM-encapsulated gold nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

The molecular engineering capability of the layer-by-layer (LbL) method to immobilize layers of gold nanoparticles on indium tin oxide (ITO) substrates is used for the fabrication of nanostructured films comprising nanoparticle containing amine terminated G4 PAMAM dendrimer and PVS. Formation of PVS/PAMAM-Au multilayers showed a linear increase in anodic and cathodic peak currents, indicating that the same amount of material was adsorbed in each deposition step and it was shown that the charge transport in the ITO-PVS/PAMAM-Au system was faster than that for a bare ITO electrode.

Field-induces interfacial properties of gold nanoparticles in AC microelectrophoretic experiments

Article Abstract:

The AC eletrophoretic trajectories of citrate-stabilized gold particles are followed in time to reveal changes in the electrokinetic parameters. These changes in the electrokinetic parameters are proportionate to the exposure to the electric field and shown that 200-nm gold particles have a surface charge distribution that is quantatively different from the size distribution.

Submicrometer cavity surface plasmon sensors

Article Abstract:

A miniaturized spherical surface plasmon sensor for measuring the binding kinetics of unlabeled molecules is introduced. A resonant microactivity sensor made from a spherical gold-coated dielectric microparticle, which is excited through a near-field pinhole, is designed and implemented.
