Enzymatic synthesis of carbo- and heterocyclic aryl oxiranes

Article Abstract:

The use of recombinant alcohol dehydrogenase in producing (R)- and (S)-oxiranes, substituted phenyl oxiranes and heterocyclic oxiranes is studied. Oxiranes have varied uses in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the production of single enantiomer alcohols. The methods employed, and the corresponding results, are discussed.
