Evidence of two-dimensional superconductivity in the single crystalline nanohybrid of organic-bismuth cuprate

Article Abstract:

A coordination compound of Hg[I.sub.2][(pyridine).sub.2] is successfully intercalated into a single crystalline [Bi.sub.2]-[Sr.sub.2]Ca[Cu.sub.2][O.sub.y] high-[T.sub.c] superconductor through an interlayer complexation reaction between pyridine molecules and bismuth cuprate pre-intercalated with mercuric iodide. The results have provided the evidence of the two-dimensionality of high temperature superconductivity in the present cuprate-based nanohybrid material.

Hetrostructured nanohybrid of zinc oxide-montmorillonite clay

Article Abstract:

The hetrostructured zinc oxide-aluminosilicate nanohybrids were synthesized through a hydrothermal reaction between the colloidal suspensions of exfoliated montmorillonite nanosheets and sol solution of zinc acetate. The intercalation of zinc oxide nanoparticles expands the basal spacing of the host montmorillonite clay, and the crystallites of nanohybrids were assembled to form a bubble structure.
