Extremely slow dynamics of a weakly wetting liquid at a solid/liquid interface: CS2 confined in nanoporous glasses

Article Abstract:

Optical Kerr effect (OKE) spectroscopy was used to investigate the orientational dynamics of liquid CS2 confined in silicate nanopores at various temperatures. Results showed a strong dependence of the average orientational time on the pore size. Improvements in dynamic range of OKE data revealed an extremely slow relaxation component in the OKE decays of confined CS2.

Temperature-dependent optical Kerr effect spectroscopy of aromatic liquids

Article Abstract:

The temperature-dependent dynamics of aromatic liquids are studied using ultrafast optical Kerr effect (OKE) spectroscopy. The influence of different molecular parameters on the shape of the OKE spectrum is assessed and a model is proposed that links the differences in the OKE spectra to corresponding differences in the local ordering of the liquids.

Ultrafast spectroscopic studies of the dynamics of liquids confined in nanoporous glasses

Article Abstract:

Femtosecond optical Kerr effect spectroscopy has been used to analyze the reorientational dynamics of liquids confined in nanoporous sol-gel glasses. The significance of the interplay between liquid/liquid and liquid/surface interactions in regulating the behaviour of confined liquids is emphasized.
