FRANCE: MOVEMENTS AND RE-ORGANISATION AT KNAUF
Article Abstract:
Insulation products manufacturer, Knauf Saplest, has transferred its 'lost foam' production and sales activity to Knauf Creafoam, and its northern France market activity to Knauf Pack Nord. The company, based in Faucogney (Haute-Saone), will also transfer some of its activity in eastern France to Knauf Pack Est, which has increased its capital by FFr 1.2mn to FFr 4.14mn. Knauf Pack Est will take over Saplest's packaging production and sales branch, and its moulded polystyrene activity.

FRANCE: RECYCLING OF EXPANDED POLYSTYRENE
Article Abstract:
Out of a total of 37,000 tons of used expanded polystyrene in France in 1999, more than 6,000 tons were mechanically recycled, representing 16% of the total, according to the French plastic manufacturing union. There are various ways to recycle this material, including burning, crushing, re-shaping, and melting. In total, 14,000 tons of expanded polystyrene were recycled in 1999, representing 39% of that consumed.

FRANCE: SCVF CHANGES ITS NAME TO VINYLFOS

The Societe du Chlorure de Vinyle de Fos (SCVF), has changed its name to Vinylfos. This company, located at Puteaux, operates a plant which produces monomer vinyl chloride and other chemical products. It has FFr 50mn in capital stock.
