FRANCE: R-P PROPHARM CUTS JOBS
Article Abstract:
Rhone Poulenc Propharm, a French pharmaceutical company, is going to cut 69 jobs out of a total 395 at its plant at Saint-Genis-Laval in the Rhone departement. The company made a turnover of EUR 683mn in 1998 and has also cut 17 jobs out of 400 at its plant at Maisons-Alfort. Rhone Poulenc Propharm has decided to shed its Livron plant in The Drome departement. The Sopran company is in charge of finding a buyer for the plant. If no buyer is found the plant will continue operating with reduced staff since 70 jobs out of a workforce of 190 would be eliminated.

FRANCE: GNR PHARMA'S CAPITAL INCREASE

GNR Pharma, the French group, has increased its capital from FFr 5.8mn to FFr 55.8mn. The Laboratoires Knoll France, a subsidiary of the German group BASF, is among those who subscribed to this increase.
