Gas-phase conformations of deprotonated and protonated mononucleotides determined by ion mobility and theoretical modeling

Article Abstract:

Studies done on the preferred gas-phase conformations of a series of deprotonated and protonated mononucleotides by ion mobility experiments and theoretical modeling calculations is reported. Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations indicate that the most energetically favored sites for protonation are N3 on dAMP, N7 on dGMP, N3 on dCMP, and the phosphate group on dTMP.

Synthesis and characterization of the thiogermanic acids H4Ge4S10 and H2Ge4S9

Article Abstract:

The Synthesis and characterization of the thiogermanic acids H4Ge4S10 and H2Ge4S9 are described with the help of Raman, infrared, powder X-ray diffraction. A model preparation method consisting of reacting germanium oxide with liquid hydrogen sulfide containing a trace amount of water is used to form Ge(sub 4)s(sub 10)(super 4-) ions.

One-step synthesis of ordered two-dimensional assemblies of silver nanoparticles by the spontaneous reduction of silver ions by pentadecylphenol Langmuir monolayers

Article Abstract:

The single-step synthesis of silver nanoparticles by the reduction of silver ions present in the subphase under alkaline conditions by 3-pentadecylphenol (3-PDP) Langmuir monolayer and their assembly into ordered two-dimensional structures is described.
