Growth mechanism of long aligned multiwall carbon nanotube arrays by water-assisted chemical vapor deposition

Article Abstract:

Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) synthesizes highly aligned arrays of multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) on layered Si substrates and the effect of substrate design and the process parameters on the growth mechanism are studied. The characterization study has displayed catalyst island formation before nanotube array growth and nanotube growth on the top of the array.

Characterization of oxides of cesium

Article Abstract:

The comprehensive analysis of the air-sensitive products of the reaction between cesium and oxygen is presented. Both direct lattice image and electron diffraction modes of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) indicate that a mixture of oxides was obtained in this reaction.

Morphology of multiwall WS(sub-2) nanotubes

Article Abstract:

Nanotubes were considered as potential tips for scanning probe microscopy, field emitters(sup2-4). Two kinds of morphologies have been observed among the batches of synthesized WS(sub-2) nanotubes: "thin" nanotubes and "thick" ones.
