High-performance OTFTs using surface-modified alumina dielectrics

Article Abstract:

The dielectric surfaces in organic thin-film transistors (TFTs) are modified using alkylphosphonic acid monolayers that have a strong affinity for alumina surfaces. Adding monolayers to organic TFTs has resulted in polycrystalline devices with mobilities nearly equal to single-crystal values while maintaining acceptable values of other devices parameters required for fully functional integrated circuits.

Field-induced photoluminescence modulation of MEH-PPV under near-field optical excitation

Article Abstract:

Electric field-induced modulation of the near-field photoluminescence of thin films of the conjugated polymer poly[2-methoxy, 5-(2'-ethyl-hexyloxy)-p-phenylene-vinylene] (MEH-PPV) is estimated. The findings indicate that the near-field photoluminescence intensity decreases when the sample bias is positive with respect to the probe while the intensity increases when the sample bias is negative.
