Self-assembly of linear arrays of semiconductor nanoparticles on carbon single-walled nanotubes

Article Abstract:

The formation of well-organized, one-dimensional (1-D) arrays of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) by van der Waals (vdW) adsorption onto single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) is described. The self-assembly of semiconductor nanocrystals (NCs) onto SWNT surfaces is obtained without chemical functionalization of the surfaces of SWNTs with linker molecules, thereby providing a new approach for investigating alternative photocatalytic agents for solar photochemistry.

Charge separation in heterostructures of InP nanocrystals with metal particles

Article Abstract:

The optical and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) properties of InP nanocrystals are studied, in which metallic gold or indium is present as an incorporated part of nanocrystals. The interaction of metal with semiconductor nanocrystals provides new functionalities to the nanostructures and the possibility of charge separation.

Core-shell quantum dots of lattice-matched ZnCdSe2 shells on InP cores: experiment and theory

Article Abstract:

The synthesis of zinc blende (InP)ZnCdSe2 core-shell quantum dots (QDs) is reported. The quality of the epitaxially grown shells was monitored by adsorption and emission spectra and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
