The direct electron transfer of myoglobin based on the electron tunneling in proteins

Article Abstract:

The electron tunneling of the protein-polypeptide interactions was found in the study of direct electron transfer of the myoglobin (Mb) on the electrode surface. The electrochemical results indicated the presence of the electron tunneling and the quasi-reversible surface controlled direct electron transfer for Mb, which can retain its near-native secondary structure in gelatine films and exhibit a rapid amperometric response to the reduction of oxygen, H2O2 and nitrite.

Highly luminescent zinc(II)-bis(8-hydroxyquinoline) complex nanorods: Sonochemical synthesis, characterizatons, and protein sensing

Article Abstract:

The synthesis of highly luminescent zinc(II)-bis(8-hydroxyquinoline) (Znq.sub.2) complex nanorods was achieved by sonochemical microemulsion containing zinc acetate and 8-hydroxyquinoline. The sensitivity of these nanorods to several proteins like human serum albumin (HSA), bovine serum albumin (BSA) was characterized.
