In situ FITR studies of the effect of temperature on the adsorption and electrooxidation of CO at the Ru(0001) electrode surface

Article Abstract:

The adsorption and electrooxidation of CO at a Ru(0001) electrode in perchloric acid solution are investigated as a function of temperature wherein potential and time is used in situ FTIR spectroscopy. It was observed that higher temperatures not only facilitate active surface oxide formation and weaken the adsorption, but they also facilitate the relaxation of the CO adlayer.

Model catalyst study on vanadia particles deposited onto a thin-film alumina support. 2. Interaction with carbon monoxide

Article Abstract:

The infrared spectroscopy (IR) is utilized to study the interaction of CO molecules with a model catalyst system formed by alumina-supported vanadia particles. Low -energy electrons that are supplied either by an electron gun or by exposing the sample to X-rays could induce an oxidation reaction.

Carbon monoxide binding to copper-containing nitrate reductase from alcaligenes faecalis

Article Abstract:

The active site of copper-containing nitrite reductase (NiR), the carbonyl derivatives of the wild-type enzyme and the Asp98Asn variant are studied by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. NiR from Alcaligenes faecalis (AfNiR) is a trimeric multi-copper enzyme.Z
