Influences of permeation of vanadium ions through PVDF-g-PSSA membranes on performances of vanadium redox flow batteries

Article Abstract:

The preparation and physical characterization of a poly(vinylidine fluoride)-graft-poly(styrene sulfonic acid)(PVDF-g-PSSA) membrane prepared by a solution-grafting method were described. The results from cycling experiments revealed that the PVDF-g-PSSA membrane has good chemical stability in vanadium solutions and furthermost, the solution-grafting method of preparing a PVDF-g-PSSA membrane is very simple, leading to significantly cost reduction and commercial redox flow battery.

Mesoscale organization of nearly monodisperse flowerlike ceria microspheres

Article Abstract:

Monodisperse flowerlike CeO2 microspheres are compounded through a simultaneous polymerization-precipitate reaction, metamorphic reconstruction, and mineralization under hydrothermal condition as well as subsequent calcination. The CeO2 microspheres have shown excellent catalytic properties and marked hydrothermal stability when they are used in steam reforming of ethanol for producing H2.

Immobilization of hexokinase onto chitosan decorated particles

Article Abstract:

The synthesis of chitosan (CH) decorated polystyrene (PS) particles and their characterization by dynamic light-scattering, [zeta] potential measurements and transmission electron microscopy is presented. The enzymatic activity of free hexokinase (HK) and immobilized HK is monitored by using spectrometry as a function of storing time and reuse.
