Infrared multiphoton dissociation spectroscopic analysis of peptides and oligosaccharides by using Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry with a midinfrared free-electron laser

Article Abstract:

The fragmentation of peptides and oligosaccharides in the gas phase is investigated by using electrospray ionization Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FTICR) mass spectrometry coupled with dissociation by a laser-cleavage infrared multiphoton dissociation (IRMPD) technique. The gas-phase IRMPD spectra of protonated peptides and two sodiated oligosaccharides are obtained over the IR scan range of 5.7-9.5 microm.

White-light emission of amine-fictionalized organic/inorganic hybrids; emitting centers and recombination mechanisms

Article Abstract:

The recombination mechanisms and the chemical nature of the emitting centers subject to the white-light emission of sol-gel derived amine-functionalized hybrids lacking metal activator ions are discussed. Electron paramagnetic resonance data indicate that the specific photoluminescence (PL) mechanism subjacent to the component associated with the siliceous nanodomains involves oxygen-related defects.

Distinctive pressure effects on the association equilibrium in cyclodextrin group-inclusion complex as studied with electron paramagnetic resonance

Article Abstract:

The isomeric guest-host complexes formed by cyclic oligosaccharide cyclodextrin (CD) is studied. The changes in the equilibrium constants of these complexes are analyzed with the use of electron paramagnetic resonance (ERP).
