Internal energy transfer in laser desorption/ionization from silicon nanowires

Article Abstract:

The effects of laser pulse length, laser fluence and surface morphology on the internal energy transfer in soft laser desorption/ionization (SLDI) from silicon nanowires (SiNWs) is investigated. Seven benzyl-substituted benzylpyridium thermometer ions are used to gauge the energy content of the desorbed species through their survival yields.

Surface S(sub N)2 reaction by H2O on chlorinated Si(100)-2 X 1 surface

Article Abstract:

The potential energy surfaces of 1, 2, or 3 water molecule sequential adsorptions on the symmetrically chlorinated Si(100)-2 X 1 surface are theoretically explored. The results state that the first water molecule adsorption to the surface dimer requires a higher reaction barrier than the subsequent second water molecule adsorption.

Effects of surface chemical composition on the early growth stages of alpha-sexithienyl films on silicon oxide substrates`

Article Abstract:

An investigation on the effects due to variation sin surface chemical composition on alpha-sexithienyl ultrathin film formation is presented. It is hypothesized that isolated OH groups can interact with alpha-sexithienyl molecules and anchor them down flat with respect to the surface.
