Ion conduction mechanisms and thermal properties of hydrated and anhydrous phosphoric acids studied with {[super 1]H}, {[super 2]H}, and {[super 31]P NMR}

Article Abstract:

The ion conduction mechanism of phosphoric acids in condensed states without free water in a manometer state with water are studied by measuring the iconic conductivity using AC impedance, thermal properties, and self-diffusion coefficients and spin-lattice relaxation times with multilinear NMR to understand the behaviors of phosphoric acids in fuel cells. The agreement of ionic conductivities between those measured directly and those calculated from the diffusion coefficients indicates that ion conduction obeys the Nernst-Einstein equation in the condensed fuel cells.

In situ IR spectrum of 12-tungstophosphoric acid hexahydrate with planar H5O2

Article Abstract:

The in situ IR spectra of H3PW12O40.nH2O (n=0-6.2) in the range 4000-1100 cm(power -1)are measured and that of H3PW12O40.6H2O with planar H5O2(power +) are investigated. The spectrum showed a broad continuum below 3700 cm(power-1), with peaks at 3420, 2720, 2030, and 1640 cm(power -1), and was diconvoluted into five bands at 3420, 2720, 2030, 1780, and 1640 cm(power -1).

NMR characterization of mesostructured aluminophosphates

Article Abstract:

The atomic structure of ordered mesostructured aluminophosphates with dodecyl phosphates as the structure-directing template was investigated by multinuclear solid-state NMR. Two different types of materials were studied: one with the template headgroup as the only phosphate source and one where additionally phosphoric acid was used in the synthesis.
