Isooriented lyotropic lamellar phase in the C12E6/D2O system

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to examine the isooriented lyotropic lamellar phase in the C12E6/D2O system under the influence of strongly orienting magnetic fields using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. It was observed that cooling induces the isotropic phase to become an almost completely isooriented lamellar phase when the magnetic field strength is high. Results based on optical polarizing microscopy experiments reveal the presence of fine grained, mosaic optical textures.

Phase diagram of the C12E6/D2O system revisited: effect of strong magnetic fields

Article Abstract:

The effect of strong magnetic fields on the orientation of an hexagonal mesophase and lamellar phase occurring in the C12E6/D2O system was investigated. Results showed that both anisotropic phases partially orient due to high magnetic fields, with a more relevant orientational effect in the lamellar phase than in the hexagonal phase. Assumptions inferred from 1H and 2H NMR spectra were supported by the optical microscopy investigation.

Hydrophobically modified pullulans: Characterization and physicochemical properties

Article Abstract:

Pullulan is hydrophobically modified by reaction with dodecanoic acid, modulating the polymer-to-acid ratio. The resulting product known as PULAU is characterized and their physiochemical properties in aqueous solution at 25 Degree Celsius are presented.
