Kinetic analysis of sequential multistep reactions

Article Abstract:

Two numerically stable integral transformations are described for solving the challenges faced by the kinetic analysis of multistep chemical reactions. The first transformation has helped in deducing the number of rate-limiting steps from kinetic measurements, while the second transformation has helped in reconstructing the distribution of rate constants in the multistep reaction.

Temperature dependence of hydrogen bonding and freezing behavior of water in reverse micelles

Article Abstract:

The mid-infrared spectra of H2O and D2O confined in Aerosol OT (AOT) reverse micelles (RM) at various water/surfactant molar ratios [w(sub o)] were measured. In the liquid phase, RM water pool H-bond network energetically favored low-angle H-bonds less than in bulk water, and this behavior was w(sub o)-dependent, approaching that of bulk water with increasing w(sub o).

Spectral diffusion experiment with a denatured protein

Article Abstract:

The spectral diffusion dynamics of a protein, namely cytochrome c carrying the free base analogue of heme, in its unfolded state is investigated. It is observed that the qualitative behavior of the time evolution of the hole width changes in the unfolded state from a power law at short aging times to a significantly slower time dependence.
