Kinetics of irreversible protein aggregation: Analysis of extended lumry-eyring models and implications for predicting protein shelf life

Article Abstract:

A general phenomenological kinetic model of irreversible protein aggregation in aqueous solution proceeding via non-native conformation is examined with a view toward the development of techniques top predict in vitro protein shelf life quantitatively. The results provide a basis for predicting shelf life by extrapolating high-temperature aggregation kinetics to lower-temperature, long-term storage conditions.

Interaction of protein backbone with nucleic acid bases

Article Abstract:

A theoretical study of the hydrogen-bonded (HB) complexes between a protein model and nucleic acid bases (NAB) was carried out. The results indicate that the strongest HBs between the individual NAB and the protein models involve the atoms that participate in the formation of the WC dimers.

Theoretical study of HCN and HNC neutral and charged clusters

Article Abstract:

A theoretical study of linear and cyclic clusters of hydrogen cyanide (HCN) and hydrogen isocyanide HNC is carried out. The results show that cyclic clusters are more stable than linear ones in those cases where the number of monomers considered is larger than four.
