Article Abstract:

From April 1997 to March 1998, the 12 principle worldwide medicine markets registered sales worth US$ 178.6bn, according to the IMS. All markets registered a progression, with the exception of Japan which fell 5%. The Mexican market grew by 25%, Canada and Spain 12%, the USA 11%, Australia/New Zealand 10%, Great Britain 8%, Italy 6%, Brazil and Argentina 5%, Germany 4% and France 3%. The leading medicines consumed by the four leading countries (USA, Japan, Germany, France) are cardiovascular products, drugs for the metabolism, and for the central nervous system.

WORLD: POTENTIAL FOR DIGITAL PRINTING

Article Abstract:

According to Analyst's and Investor's Conference, Heidelberger Digital of Rochester, US, predicts digital colour printing to grow at an annual rate of 18% by 2005. A 11% annual growth is forecast for black-and-white digital printing. The market for flexographic printing is forecast to grow 6% and offset printing 3% per year. Stagnation is forecast in rotogravure printing, while book and serigraphic printing is likely to decline at an annual rate of 4%.
