Linear metal atom chain on GaN (0001) by chemical vapor deposition

Article Abstract:

The adsorption, reaction, growth and the bonding configuration of a trinuclear linear metal atom chain complex, tetrakis (2,2'-dipyridylamino) chromium (VI) chloride (DPCC, Cr3 (mu-dpa)(sub 4) Cl2), on the GaN (0001) surface at 110 K have been studied using synchrotron-induced X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and static secondary ion mass spectroscopy. XPS studies revealed three Cr chemical states of equal surface population present on the sample surface exposed to DPCC of low doses.

Carbon-coated single-crystalline zinc sulfide nanowires

Article Abstract:

Synthesis of single-crystalline ZnS nanowires coated with graphitic carbon shells is presented by thermal evaporation of a mixture of ZnS and SnS powders in a graphite crucible. Photoluminescence spectrum shows that the carbon-coated ZnS nanowires have a strong emission band centered at 586 nm and a shoulder band ad 645 nm.

Needlelike Bicrystalline GaN nanowire with excellent field emission properties

Article Abstract:

Thermal evaporation process was used to synthesize needlelike GaN bicrystalline nanowires with uniform morphology, size, on an Au-coated Si substrate. The excellent field-emission property of GaN bicrystalline nanowires is attributed to structure defects and sharp tips.
