Core-shell nanorods for efficient photoelectrochemical hydrogen production

Article Abstract:

Core-shell InP-CdS and InP-ZnTe nanorods are proposed as photoelectrodes in the efficient photoelectro chemical hydrogen production. On the basis of systematic study using strain-dependent k.p theory, it is found that in these heterostructures both energies and wave function distributions of electrons and holes can be favorably tailored to a considerable extent by exploiting the interplay between quantum confinement and strain.

Hydrogen production from a combination of the water-gas shift and redox cycle process of methane partial oxidation via lattice oxygen over LaFe[O.sub.3] perovskite catalyst

Article Abstract:

A new process is described for hydrogen production, which combines the water-gas shift (WGS) with a redox mode by using lattice oxygen as the sole oxidant instead of gaseous oxygen in a fixed-bed reactor. The results have shown that the new route is superior to general partial oxidation of methane (POM) in stability, safety, ease of operation and optimization and low cost.

Pneumatochemical impedance spectroscopy. 2: Dynamics of hydrogen sorption by metals

Article Abstract:

Pneumatochemical impedance spectroscopy is used to analyze multistep reaction mechanisms such as those observed in solid solution domains of LaNi(sub 5)-H(sub 2)(g) systems. It is shown that hydrogen sorption is a two-step mechanism including dissociate surface chemisorption of molecular hydrogen and atomic hydrogen bulk transport by diffusion.
