Luminescence enhancement of Tb(super 3+) ion in assemblies of amphiphilic linear-dendritic block copolymers: Antenna and microenvironment effects

Article Abstract:

The luminescence enhancement of Tb(super 3+) ion in the assemblies of amphiphilic linear-dendritic block copolymers where the Tb(super 3+) ions were bound to polyacrylic acid (PAA) chains is investigated along with the effects of the microenvironment and antenna, which are provided by unique supermolecular systems. It is seen that the characteristics of a dendrimer and linear polymer are present in an amphiphilic hybrid block copolymers PAA-Dendr. PE.

Plasmid DNA encapsulation within cationic diblock copolymer vesicles for gene delivery

Article Abstract:

The design and structural characterization of cationic diblock copolymer vesicles loaded with plasmid DNA based on a single emulsion technique are reported. The integrity of the DNA after encapsulation and subsequent release is confirmed by gel electrophoresis. The reverse transfection of in vitro cultured HeLa cancer cells growing on plasmid-copolymer vesicles deposited on a glass substrate is demonstrated.

Solubilization of homopolymers in a solution of diblock copolymers

Article Abstract:

Mixed solutions of homopolymer and diblock copolymer chains are studied theoretically. It is concluded that the formation of copolymer micelles containing also the insoluble chains allows for an increased solubility of the homopolymers in the solution.
