Luminescence properties of the mixed J-aggregate of oxacyanine dye and thiacyanine dye: Formation of a persistence-type aggregate

Article Abstract:

The monolayer assemblies incorporating the J-aggregates of oxacyanine dye and thiacyanine dye are fabricated in a study by the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique. The steady-state absorption and fluorescence spectra and the picosecond fluorescence decay of the S9(J) + S11(J) assembly are reported, based on which the characteristic features of the mixed J-aggregate are discussed.

NO and NO2 adsorption on terrace, step, and corner sites of the BaO surface from DFT calculations

Article Abstract:

The density functional theory (DFT) cluster model calculations are used to investigate the adsorption of NO and NO2 molecules at the BaO surface. The surface basicity of the alkaline-earth oxides increases going from MgO to BaO and is explained in terms of the change in the Madelung potential.

Luminescence properties of the mixed J-aggregate of two kinds of cyanine dyes in layer-by-layer alternate assemblies

Article Abstract:

The layer-by-layer alternate assemblies incorporating two kinds of cyanine by alternately absorbing a cationic polyelectrolyte and anionic cyanine dyes on the quartz plate are fabricated. The dye combinations form the mixed J-aggregate in the alternate assemblies is confirmed.
