Membrane environment reduces the accessible conformational space available to an integral membrane protein

Article Abstract:

The influence exerted on an integral membrane protein by its environment using the light-harvesting complex (LHI) of purple bacteria as a model, is studied. It is concluded that membrane environment significantly narrows the statistical distribution of conformational states available to the LH1 complex in comparison to the corresponding state distribution observed for the same detergent-solubilized protein.

Simulation studies on high-field EPR spectra of lipid spin labels in cholestrol-containing membranes

Article Abstract:

94-GHz spectra of lipid spin labels are sensitive to the rapid segmented motions of lipid chains even at the lower-end of high-frequency range. They allow a precise description of slow off-axial components of overall chain motion in combination with simulation of lower-frequency spectra.

Conformational analysis of poly(di-n-butylsilane), poly(di-n-hexysilane), and poly(methyl-n-propylsilane) by a rotational siomeric state scheme with molecular dynamics simulations

Article Abstract:

A methodology for conformational analyses of polymers having long side chains was presented. By incorporating the solvents into the MD simulations, a process reproduction of the experiment is possible.
