Molecular chemisorptions of oxygen on Cu6 cluster anions

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to demonstrate that O2 molecularly adsorbs on Cu6(super -1) at room temperature by using vibrationally resolved ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy. By changing the sizes of nanoclusters atom, new chemical properties are observed, which are not expected on the basis of the results from atom, diatomic molecule and respective bulk materials consisting of the same element.

Effects of TiO2 surface fluorination on photocatalytic reactions and photoelectrochemical behaviors

Article Abstract:

The effects of surface fluorides on TiO2 on both photocatalytic reactions of four organic compounds whose degradation mechanisms are quite different from one another and the photocurrent generation behaviors. As a result, both photoreductive reaction rate and photocurrent generation are reduced on F-TiO2.

Selective oxidation of the TiC (001) surface by O2: determined by the surface states

Article Abstract:

The oxidation of the TiC(001) surface by O2 has been investigated by using density functional theory with a slab model. A method based on the decomposition of the energy band is presented to describe the band structure of TiC (001) surface on exposure to O2.
