Multibubble sonoluminescence from aqueous solutions containing mixtures of surface active solutes

Article Abstract:

The effects of mixtures of aliphatic alcohols and surfactants on the sonoluminescence (SL) intensity generated in aqueous solution by pulsed 515 kHz ultrasound are reported. The conclusions stated that the surface active solutes competitively adsorbed to the cavitations bubble/ solution interface and affected the sonoluminescence through both inter and intrabubble processes.

The influence of acoustic power on multibubble sonoluminescence in aqueous solution containing organic solutes

Article Abstract:

The effects of varying the applied acoustic power on the extent to which the addition of water-soluble solutes affect the intensity of aqueous multibubble sonoluminescence are investigated. The observations are interpreted in terms of a combination of material evaporation into the bubble, rectified diffusion, bubble clustering and bubble-bubble coalescence.
