NMR study of strontium binding by a micaceous mineral

Article Abstract:

The use of solid-state NMR to analyze strontium directly and indirectly in a fully strontium-exchanged synthetic mica of nominal composition N[a.sub.4]M[g.sub.6]A[l.sub.4]S[i.sub.4][O.sub.20][F.sub.4] was studied. It was concluded that the strontium cations in the proton-free interlayers are observed by [.sup.87.Sr] NMR and bound through electrostatic interactions as nine coordinate inner-sphere complexes sitting in the ditrigonal holes.

Modeling the synthesis of amorphous Si3B3N7 via a sequence of dynamically well-separated steps

Article Abstract:

A separation of time scales approach that can be used for modeling various aspects of sol-gel process resulting in a synthetic model with sell-separated steps is described. A satisfactory agreement has been observed in the actual implementation of process parameters particularly in the NMR-experiments and overall density of the medium range order.

Determination of molecular geometry in solid-state NMR: Rotational-echo double resonance of three-spin systems

Article Abstract:

The precise measurement of internuclear distances in solids by NMR was widely explored using experiments that measure the dipolar coupling between labeled spin pairs. It shows that the dipolar transforms are especially useful for identifying the presence of multispin effects.
