Near threshold photo-oxidation of dinucleotides containing purines upon 266 nm nanosecond laser excitation. The role of base stacking, conformation, and sequence

Article Abstract:

The study was done on the 266nm nanosecond laser photoionization (PI) of a wide range of dinucleotides containing purines, and related nucleosides and nucleotides. The result shows that the differences in the base stacking, conformation and structural fluctuations of various dinucleotides are proposed to explain the sequence effect in Photoionization (PI) yields and photoreactivity at 254 nm.

Role of sequence and conformation on the photochemistry and the photophysical of A-T DNA dimers: An experimental and computational approach

Article Abstract:

The role of base sequence and conformation on the photochemistry and the photophysical of thymidylyl (3'-5')-2'-deoxyadenosine sodium salt (TpdA) and 2-deoxyadenylyl (3'-5')-thymidine ammonium salt (dApT) is studied. The transient absorption spectra show the solvated electron broad band in the visible region for each dinucleotide and low-intensity absorption bands in the ultra violet region.

Photophysics and photochemistry of imipramine, desimipramine, and clomipramine in several solvents: a fluorescence, 266 nm laser flash, and theoretical study

Article Abstract:

The studies of photophysical and photochemical properties of imipramine (IPA) and its derivatives are reported. The results provide insight into phototoxicity of these drugs which are used for the treatment of depression and other mental disorders.
